Drunk Turtle instructed the winemaker Enzo Brini for a “protocol of study on the effects of storing wine in cocciopesto wine amphorae and cement.”

The objective is to evaluate the characteristics of the containers that are produced by the company in relation to the permeation of oxygen, the possibility of a transfer of (particularly heavy metals) and the sensorial effect of different wine amphorae on wine.

For permeability tests, made in the Tenuta of Ghizzano family Venerosi Minnows, were used wine tanks earthenware and cement capacity of 100 liters. For those of sale, made in the cellar The Convent of Montepulciano has been used an earthenware pot Vinario Opus 10 from 1000 liters.
